Bitcoin Poker at Seals
Getting Started
- Who are you? We are a small team of former online poker players that were put out of a job on Black Friday. We provide Texas Hold’em Poker. Player balances are denominated in bitcoins and all cash-ins and cash-outs are done via Bitcoin. No traditional currency is ever used. We choose to remain anonymous. We’ve been building our reputation since August 2011 and we’re committed to bitcoin poker for the long haul.
- What is Bitcoin? Bitcoin is peer-to-peer digital crypto-currency that has been in use since 2009. SealsWithClubs only transacts business in bitcoin. Other services such as MtGox.com, Intersango.com, and CryptoXChange.com can help you buy and sell bitcoins. [Full information available on our Bitcoin FAQ]
- What is a chip worth? A chip on Seals With Clubs is worth 1/1000 of a Bitcoin, this does not fluctuate.
- Why should I give my email when registering? In the case of a forgotten or lost password, your email can be used to reset your password. We WILL NOT reset any account that has not provided an email address, due to the inability to verify the account in any way. Make sure that the email account you provide has a secure password since it can be used for access to your Seals account. Your email will also be used in case of catastrophic site failure, domain seizure, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- What poker software do you use? Is it safe? We use Poker Mavens by Briggs Softworks. There are no known security flaws. However, it has not been used for very much serious play and it is conceivable that with a larger incentive to crack the software some will be found. We take this very seriously and will be monitoring constantly and take whatever action is necessary to keep the games secure. The SealsWithClubs management promises to vigorously defend the integrity of our games, and ask our community of players to always be watchful and report anything you feel needs our attention as soon as possible. The randomness of Poker Mavens’ RNG can be tested using a utility found at briggsoft.com. If you decide to play at SealsWithClubs, understand you are accepting the risks associated with playing on Poker Mavens software.
- Do you require my dox? We here at SealsWithClubs flatly reject the idea that an online poker room should require your personal information. We believe the online poker experience should be similar to a live cardroom, whereby players can buy chips, play, and cash out anonymously. By using bitcoin, SealsWithClubs can securely, anonymously and quickly process chip transactions without requiring any documentation.
- Do you accept USA players? Other countries? SealsWithClubs gladly accepts players worldwide.
- Do you segregate player funds? Yes, player funds are never used for operating expenses. Players’ Bitcoins are held in several wallets of varying accessibility for security reasons.
Poker FAQ
- Can I multitable? Other tips? Absolutely.
- You can resize the tables by dragging the lower right corner of the table.
- If you cascade the tables from upper right to lower left you will always be able to see the buttons when it is your turn to act.
- New cash game tables can be launched from your “My Account” tab if you have collected more than 5000 krill
- Using the pre-move buttons is helpful.
- The “bring active table to front” setting will bring a table to the top when it is your action.
- Right next to it is the four color deck option.
- If you like to follow the conversation at the table it helps to turn off the dealer chat. You can do that in “Options” at the table. In the same menu is the option to open a larger chat box, copy or view hand histories and session stats.
- If you lose connection or your flash crashes the quickest way to recover is to click the “Reload” link at the top of the page.
- Sometimes part of the table will not be correctly displayed, the “refresh table” button in the options menu at the table will fix this.
- Do you have a player point system like other poker sites? We have a rewards system called “krill.” More information about krill is available on our promotions page.
- How much do you charge in rake? The rake is 2.5% of the total pot size, rounded down, up to .1BTC. No rake is collected on hands that do not make it to the flop. The krill rakeback system and our other promotions make the rake on SealsWithClubs extremely low vs. the industry standard. More info on the promotions page.
- How do I know my opponents aren’t cheating? You don’t know that, they might be cheating you – SealsWithClubs is the wild, wild west of online poker rooms. SealsWithClubs will vigilantly fight any collusion, cheating or otherwise unfair game manipulation. We reserve the right to handle cheating, collusion, or otherwise unfair play at our sole discretion. We encourage players to email admin@sealswithclubs.eu if you observe anything you would like us to investigate. If you are uncomfortable with anonymous ring games we offer heads up tables.
